The best times to notice the splendid cosmic focal point of the Smooth Way, in any area of the planet, will in general be from about mid-Walk through mid-October, the "Smooth Way Season," as I and large numbers of my kindred astrophotographers have begun calling it. In fact, you can see some piece of the Smooth Way whenever of the year, however while shooting in the time span from September through April, you'll be restricted to the dimmer pieces of the night sky as the Sun clouds the brilliant cosmic focus.
