At first we tried simple libraries, but they completely fell apart outside of ideal conditions — like if a barcode was scratched or slightly curved on packaging, it just wouldn’t scan. That’s when I started looking into more advanced tools, especially anything labeled as an AI barcode scanner because I figured there had to be something better than brute image decoding. I eventually landed on this: https://ocrstudio.ai/barcode-scanner/ and yeah, it ended up being the one we stuck with. Not saying it magically fixes everything, but it handled real-world messiness way better than the others.
